Scarlett O'Hara Fashion

Remembering the incomparable Vivien Leigh (Scarlett O'Hara) on her birthday today.
When one thinks of screen legend Vivien Leigh, one invariably also thinks about her arguably most famous role as Scarlett O'Hara.
Leigh and O'Hara became forever intertwined after "Gone With The Wind" earned the actress a Best Actress Oscar in 1939 and the raven-haired beauty went on to star in another Academy Award-winning performance as Blanche DuBois in "A Streetcar Named Desire."
Now considered one of Old Hollywood's most talented and beautiful celebrities (Leigh died 1967), it is no wonder that anything Laurence Olivier's wife touched turned into gold, which is why the Victoria & Albert Museum in England has acquired the silver screen star's archiver.

Walter Plunkett  was the costume designer for Gone With The Wind .
He made over 500 costumes for the film. There was no Oscar category for costumes, so his work on the film was not recognized.
Years later he received the Oscar for costuming “An American in Paris.”

Any true "Gone With the Wind" star has to appreciate Scarlett's astounding focus when it came to wearing only the
frilliest and poofiest of dresses, even when the entire country was embroiled in the Civil War.
Even when her first husband died! O'Hara famously ripped off the curtains of her home in order to fashion a dress
to lure Rhett Butler. Now she is an inspiration for all fashion lovers around the world.

also known as the Priestess of Polka Dots , started painting her renowned dots and webs
as a result of her visual and auditory hallucinations caused by experiences that terrified her.
Through art, she found a way of calming her obsessive and depressive feelings.

Throughout the years, she’s been involved in large paintings, soft sculptures,
and environmental sculptures using mirrors and electric lights, happenings, body paint, festivals,
fashion shows and anti-war demonstrations.
In 2012, she collaborated with Louis Vuitton’s creative director Marc Jacobs to create the

If you are really obsessed with fashion history,
you must have heard or read everything about twiggy!
I must say, I have always wanted to try her signature makeup.
So, in my illustration I tried to catch her eyes the most I could.
Also, I found an useful tutorial about twiggy herself teaching us how to do it, here
